Company Profile

Company Overview

The Toledo Museum of Art has earned international respect and renown for its collection that spans cultures from the ancient world through the present. Annually, more than 400,000 visitors encounter and engage with our collection, exhibitions, and programs in both our 1912 main building, reflecting the classical revival style, and our new Glass Pavilion, a transparent masterpiece of postmodern architecture. Linking the two buildings is an outdoor sculpture garden, which provides both an open-air art experience and a gathering place for the neighboring community.

Our 35-acre campus houses the Toledo Symphony Orchestra and the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, and is physically connected to the University of Toledo (UT) Department of Art. This connection with the UT Center for Visual Arts, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank O. Gehry, provides students with unprecedented access to the Museum collection and resources. In addition to this ongoing collaboration, the Museum presents a vibrant, growing studio arts program for the community. Offering classes for all ages and experience levels.

With these assets, our experienced staff, and our growing reputation for leadership among museums, we seek to fulfill our mission: “We believe in the power of art to ignite the imagination, stimulate thought, and provide enjoyment. Through our collection and programs, we strive to integrate art into the lives of people.” More information about the Museum is available on our website: www.toledomuseum.org.
