Company Profile

Dusti Bonge' Art Foundation, Inc.

Company Overview

Dusti Bongé Art Foundation Mission Statement
Dusti Bongé (1903-1993), née Eunice Swetman, was an abstract expressionist painter who worked from the 1930s through the late 1980s. Though she lived in Biloxi, Mississippi, she showed with Betty Parsons' Gallery in New York from the 1940s through the 1970s. The primary mission of the Dusti Bongé Art Foundation is the promotion of Bongé's work, which has been insufficiently recognized as an important contribution to abstract expressionism, one of the most significant art movements in American art history. The mission of the Dusti Bongé Art Foundation also includes education in the arts, particularly addressing the greater Mississippi Gulf Coast community, by exhibiting the work of Dusti Bongé that is owned by the foundation and by sponsoring projects involving students in the Gulf Coast region and showing work by other artists.
