The Delaware Art Museum is a vibrant regional institution with an internationally renowned collection and a bright and contemporary building (expanded in 2005). Founded in 1912, the Delaware Art Museum is best known for its large collection of British, Pre-Raphaelite art, works by Wilmington-native Howard Pyle and fellow American illustrators, and urban, landscapes by John Sloan and his circle. The Copeland Sculpture Garden is the only one in the state. With enhanced exhibition and education programs and services such as a unique special collections library, an interactive gallery for young children, a café and store, the Museum serves a broad, diverse and growing community.
