Company Profile

Clay Center

Company Overview

The Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of West Virginia is a museum and performing arts venue located in downtown Charleston. The Center houses performing arts, visual arts and sciences under one roof – one of the few of its kind in the country. Our facility is home to the Avampato Discovery Museum, the Juliet Art Museum, the Maier Foundation Performance Hall, the Walker Memorial Theater and the Digital Dome (a large format film and planetarium). Our mission is primarily linked to education – We are a non-profit organization which serves more than 50,000 school children every year through a wide variety of programs. A renewal project is currently underway in both the science museum and the Juliet Art Museum to better serve communities throughout the State and hopefully become a regional attraction.
