Company Overview
The Atlanta History Center (AHC) is a private nonprofit historical and cultural institution featuring the Atlanta History Museum housing five permanent exhibitions, three changing exhibition galleries, and a museum shop. The thirty-three acre campus also includes two historic houses, the 1928 Swan House and the 1860 Smith Family Farm; the Kenan Research Center housing the archives, library, and one changing exhibition gallery; and six interpretive gardens.
AHC also contains a series of special-event spaces and a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities available for public rent. The education division maintains a year-round calendar of adult, school, and family programs, lectures, and festivals.
AHC also operates the Margaret Mitchell House located five miles south in Midtown Atlanta featuring one historic house component, two permanent exhibition galleries, a selection of special-event spaces, and a museum shop. The two-acre campus is also the site of comparable public programs.
